This was the first time when I had to cross 2 borders in one day, as Gambia is surrounded by Senegal. Both borders were super easy and I spent less then one hour at them. Problem was the roads, it took my 13 hours to drive 280km. Roads in Senegal were quite bad and it got much worse in Guinea-Bissau, as it was just pot holes till capitol city Bissau. Guinea-Bissau doesnt have many chess players and chess is quite new here, there are few enthusiastic people at the federation and hopefully the numbers will grow soon. I was able to visit a few schools and met with minister of sport and with people from Olympic committee. The main language here is Portuguese, so obviously, I didnt understand much:) Huge thanks to Manuel Pedro Pereira for translating and creating a schedule for me. Guinea-Bissau is not a fide member yet, hopefully that will change and they can attend Olympiad next year.
