The road from border to Dakar was quite good, if I am not counting hundreds of speed bumps. I drove this part at night and some of them were without a sign, well you know what happened:)
I spent 1 week in Senegal and had lessons with national men team and coaches. I am happy that lot of coaches attended the lessons, I do hope the materials will help them and I am looking forward to see the photos from schools in autumn term:)
Huge thanks to Nadezda Marochkina for running everything and making my life easy and also for providing a perfect venue for lessons.
During a free day, I visited the Goree island with few other chess players. Its an island with very sad history, this used to be the last place that slaves seen before being shipped away from Africa. On my way to the border I visited mangrove forest at Toubakouta, lovely place for bird watching.
The border of Senegal-Gambia took only 1 hour to cross. Vice president of Gambia chess Mass Jeng helped me a lot, he contacted the customs and there were no problems at all. Overall I had great time in Senegal, people were very friendly and I hope I will see you guys again.
