Gambia

Gambia is the smallest country in continental Africa, completely surrounded by Senegal. It is nicknamed a smiling coast of Africa and there is a good reason for it, people here are very nice and friendly. I was stopped by a police many times and apart from one exception, they were all very professional and kind. I had the opportunity to teach in few schools and clubs and also had some lessons with talented young players. Massive thanks to Mass Jeng and Jammeh Ebrima, who created a program for me, together we went to Badumeh and Basse and also met with people from Ministry of sports and then Ministry of education where we talked about importance of chess in schools. Huge thanks To Christina Bejjani Aziz for organising a simul and also to her friends at Regal apartments who let me stay in their lovely place for free. Christina and her brother Matthew are doing a tremendous job in Gambia with their project chess in Gambia school & Communities. Christina is also trying to be become Fide arbiter and needs 2 more norms so if you know about a tournament please give her a shout. I had an amazing time in Gambia and looking forward to be back one day:)
